Writer's Block

If you're a writer you'll probably know the feeling. You're dying to write but the words just won't come. What causes this to happen and how can we fix it?

The most common cause of writer's block is being distracted by something either good or bad that is going on in our lives. Every time we sit down we just can not concentrate on writing because life gets in the way. We all have days or even weeks like this so what can we do about it?

Write about it! Instead of sitting there trying to think of something to say, simply let the words flow. Write anything that comes into your head even if it doesn't make sense - it doesn't have to  make sense it just has to come out.

Let your pen float over the page or your hands fly over the keyboard. Stop thinking, go where you feel like going. You may think this is a waste of valuable time but sometimes this can really help to focus scattered thoughts even though what you write may be a complete jumble of nonsense.

Let it all out and when you are done, you are ready to begin!

Let me know how you get on.
